⚔ Official Ruleset ⚔
Tournament Rules
One unified ruleset governing all Pub Scrims tournament play. Read and understand before you compete.
RULE — 01
⚖️ Player Conduct
- All players must treat opponents, teammates, and staff with respect at all times — in-game, in voice chat, and in Discord.
- Harassment, hate speech, slurs, or discriminatory language of any kind will not be tolerated and will result in immediate removal.
- Unsportsmanlike behavior — including excessive trash talk, taunting, or intentional sabotage of your own team — is grounds for disqualification.
- Disputes must be raised with a staff member. Do not attempt to resolve conflicts in-game or through public Discord arguments.
RULE — 02
🪪 Player Eligibility
- All competing players must be registered members of the Pub Scrims Discord server prior to the tournament start.
- Each player may only compete for one team per tournament. Roster manipulation is prohibited.
- Roster substitutions must be submitted to and approved by staff before the affected match begins.
- Players found smurfing or using alternate accounts to circumvent bans or rankings will be disqualified and permanently banned.
- Staff reserve the right to verify player identities and accounts at any time.
RULE — 04
⚙️ Game Settings
- Matches must be played with the agreed map, mode, and settings confirmed by staff prior to the match.
- Any deviation from agreed settings requires consent from both team captains and acknowledgment from a staff member.
- Hero and class restrictions (if applicable for a given tournament) will be announced in advance. Violations result in a match restart or forfeit at staff discretion.
- If a technical issue interrupts a match, notify staff immediately. Do not restart the match without staff authorization.
RULE — 05
🚫 Prohibited Actions
- Zero tolerance for cheating. Use of unauthorized software in our tournaments including; third party adapters, or any game-modifying tools not created by Sony (PlayStation), will result in an immediate ban or suspension.
- Exploiting known bugs or out-of-bounds geometry to gain a competitive advantage is prohibited unless explicitly permitted for that event.
- Match fixing — intentionally losing, coordinating results, or throwing — results in a permanent ban for all involved parties.
- Stalling tactics designed to waste time rather than compete in good faith may be penalized at staff discretion.
- Sharing private match lobby details or inviting unauthorized players to a match lobby is prohibited.
RULE — 06
📅 Scheduling & No-Shows
- Teams are responsible for coordinating and confirming their match time within the window provided by staff.
- A team that fails to have the required number of players ready within 10 minutes of the agreed start time forfeits the match.
- Forfeits may only be appealed if documented technical issues or emergencies are reported to staff before the match window closes.
- Repeated no-shows or forfeits may result in removal from the current tournament and restrictions on future participation.
RULE — 07
🔌 Disconnections & Technical Issues
- If a player disconnects, the team has 2 minutes to reconnect or field an approved substitute before a forfeit is considered.
- If a technical issue occurs before meaningful gameplay has taken place, a rematch may be requested — subject to staff approval.
- Technical issues mid-match do not automatically grant rematch rights. Staff will review on a case-by-case basis.
- Deliberate disconnection to avoid a result or reset an unfavorable situation is treated as a forfeit and may result in further disciplinary action.
RULE — 08
📋 Results & Reporting
- Match results must be reported to staff with a screenshot or clip within 10 minutes of the match ending.
- Both team captains are responsible for confirming results in the designated Discord channel.
- Disputed results must be reported immediately with supporting evidence. Late reports without evidence may not be considered.
- Falsifying match results is a bannable offense.
RULE — 09
⚔️ Enforcement & Appeals
- All rulings made by Pub Scrims staff are final unless a formal appeal is submitted within 24 hours via the designated Discord channel.
- Appeals must include a clear explanation and supporting evidence. Appeals without evidence will not be reviewed.
- Penalties range from warnings and match forfeits to tournament disqualification and permanent bans, depending on severity and history.
- Banned players may not participate in any Pub Scrims or official partner-hosted events.
- Cheating bans are permanent and non-negotiable. All other bans may be appealed after 90 days.
- Staff members are volunteers — treat them with respect. Abuse of staff is treated as a conduct violation.
